Full Itinerary -   New England Fly Drive -  The Highlights

Days 1 to 3 Boston

Start your America Holidays by flying directly into Boston, the destination for the first 3 nights of your exciting adventure. Boston is a dynamic and exciting city offering a wealth of activities to satisfy the interests of young and old alike; sightseeing, shopping, fine dining and exciting nightlife. If you want to explore a good starting point is the Freedom trail, a 3 mile historic walk that takes in all the main sights. Alternatively board one of the sightseeing trolley’s, you can jump on and off as you wish if you see something that takes your interest. The family may enjoy a Duck Tour and the shopaholics a morning in Copley Square, a boat trip out into the harbour is always a popular attraction. 

Days 4 & 5 White Mountains - Meredith(110 miles)

Collect your rental car and take a short drive north into the beautiful state of New Hampshire and the charming village of Meredith, you home for the next 2 nights. Sitting on the banks of Lake Winnipesaukee Meredith is a stunning setting that offers a vast array of land and water sports from golf to kayaking. During your stay in the White Mountains make sure you visit Mount Washington, New Hampshire’s tallest mountain and takes the scenic railway to Conway.

Days 6 to 8 Green Mountains - Manchester (132 miles)

The town on Manchester is your next location, Manchester is tucked into the heart of the Green Mountains and offers an array of recreational activities and splendid landscapes as well as a multitude of outlet shopping opportunities that is sure to keep you entertained for the next 3 days. As you cross the border from New Hampshire into Vermont make a stop at Quechee Gorge, Vermont’s mini Grand Canyon. 

Days 9 to 11Sandwich (250 miles)

Travel down through the Green Mountains following a recognised "scenic route"  to Williamstown and on to San Dwich , en-route call in at Woodstock a pretty town. Sandwich is the oldest town in Cape Cod. a treasure of walking and biking trails, bird sanctuaries, saltwater estuaries, fresh-water ponds and seashore. Over the next 3 days walk, jog or ride bikes along the Cape Cod Canal the widest sea level canal in the world. Alternatively you can go whale watching, or fishing, out in Cape Cod Bay or shop in the many distinctive boutiques 

Days 12 to 14 Chatham, Cape Cod (65 miles)

Travel onto Chatham today for, what is sadly, the last 3 nights of the holiday. Chatham is a fabulous summer resort with white sandy beaches and an abundance of attractions; if you like the idea of relaxing on the beach then it’s the perfect end to a driving holiday . Chatham is also a superb base for exploring this diverse region and the small islands scattered off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. Of all Cape Cod’s towns we are fondest of Chatham, a sophisticated, demure and tranquil enclave of affluence beside the sea. 

Day 15 Fly home from Boston to UK

Today’s journey to Boston will take you approximately 2 hours so we suggest you set a leisurely pace perhaps heading for the Plymouth Rock for lunch, and a stroll, before the final drive back to Boston airport and your return flight to the UK.
