This fly drive is ideal between April/May to November when the weather will be clement to warm.

Full Itinerary - Tennessee & The Carolina's Fly Drive

 

Days 1,2 & 3  Nashville

Take advantage of the new British Airways flight and depart from Heathrow directly to Nashville the home of country music. Visit the homes and museums of the country music giants, the Country Music Hall of Fame, Ryman Auditorium and, of course, Grand Ole Opry.  3 nights really gives you 2 full days so you will only have a taster of what this amazing city has to offer but in such a vast country maybe a taste is just enough

Days 4 & 5 Great Smoky Mountains (293 miles)

From Tennessee to North Carolina, and the magnificent Great Smoky Mountains. In Chimney Rock Park, reach the top of legendary Chimney Rock for a spectacular view and explore the nature trails, waterfalls and caves. Then head onwards to Asheville, where you will spend the next two evenings

Days 6,7 & 8  Myrtle Beach  (300 miles) 

Today’s drive takes you across North Carolina’s Low Country, with many wonderful towns en-route for you to visit. The beaches of North Carolina are beautiful, so enjoy the sands of the Cape Fear area as well as the historic attractions in Wilmington.

Days 9 &  10 Charleston (166 miles)

Enjoy a coastal drive today as you head south along the coast of South Carolina. Visit Litchfield Beach and Pawley’s Island on your way to historic Charleston, one of the South’s best preserved cities filled with historic buildings. Stroll through Magnolia Plantation and Gardens and visit one of the magnificent plantations nearby.

Day 11 & 12 Savannah ( 110 miles) 

Arrive in romantic Savannah and explore the revitalised waterfront. Many of the old mansions and churches have been restored too and are open for touring.

Day 13 & 14 Atlanta ( 156 miles)  

Atlanta is a lovely light and airy city with plenty of green space and a year round warm climate.  There is so much to do, with in walking distance of the Omni Hotel  take a trip to the Coke a Cola Museum,  tour the CNN Studios and visit The Georgia Aquarium. Its well worth driving out or taking the bus or a taxi  to the Martin Luther King Memorial and museum and if you like shopping then Poncey's City Market and the Lennox Simon Mall must feature on your itinerary.

Day 15 Fly home from Atlanta  to Heathrow 

 The British Airways direct flight back to London Heathrow flies over night lading he following morning, if you want to fly back to one of the regional airports in the UK there is a direct flight back to Manchester all others require a plane change.
