Day 1
London to Boston
After collecting your luggage and clearing US immigration make your way to the Taj Hotel.
The Crown Jewel of Boston Hotels the Taj is to be your base for the first four nights of your holiday memorable America holiday..
Boston is a dynamic and exciting city offering a wealth of activities to satisfy the interests of young and old alike; sightseeing, shopping, fine dining and exciting nightlife. If you want to explore a good starting point is the Freedom trail, a 3 mile historic walk that takes in all the main sights, alternatively board one of the sightseeing trolley’s, you can jump on and off as you wish if you see something that takes your interest. The family may enjoy a Duck Tour and the shopaholics a morning in Copley Square, a boat trip out into the harbour is always a popular attraction.

Day 5
After enjoying your leisurely American breakfast it’s only a short stroll to the Alamo Rent a Car location where you will collect your hire car. Make sure that you are fully familiar with the controls and USA driving regulations before making your way back to the Taj Hotel to collect your luggage.
Today you have a 75 miles 1½ journey down to Woods Hole. Woods Hole is located at the end of a peninsula and surrounded by water, it’s a wonderful beach getaway and the perfect summer destination, a bustling town packed with waterfront restaurants, quaint local shops and art galleries. To make the most of this relaxing setting hire a bike and ride the dedicated bike path past Surf Drive and marshes of Sippewissett or wander down by the harbour were you will have the opportunity to feast on steamed lobster, oysters and real clam chowder.

Activities in Woods Hole
Woods Hole is at the end of a peninsula and is surrounded by water. It is a wonderful beach getaway in the summer, and convenient to WHOI, MBL and Martha's Vineyard. Visitors come to relax by the shore, or do business in the area, or to spend a night before crossing over to the Vineyard.
Woods Hole in summer is a bustling town packed with waterfront restaurants, quaint local shops and many activities. There are art galleries, an aquarium, whale watching boats, bikes to rent for the Shining Sea bike path, two wonderful beaches within walking distance, a charming old-fashioned drawbridge to watch sailboats pass through, tennis courts and a great kids park. Boat slips can be arranged in the Eel Pond for visitors traveling with boats and there is much to explore out on the water from Woods Hole including the Elizabeth Islands, Quissett Harbor, Falmouth Harbor and Martha's Vineyard. Visitors come from all over the world for the great fishing here.
The Inn is 100 yards from the Steamship Authority where the ferries leave for Martha's Vineyard. Ferries leave hourly all day long and it the trip across takes approximately 50 minutes. Once on the Vineyard there are world-class shops, fantastic beaches, surfing, golfing, tennis, charming villages and other famous tourist destinations. Read more on mvol.com.
The Inn is three miles from the centre of Falmouth which has a charming Main Street filled with shops and restaurants. Falmouth is known for its annual Road Race (which starts steps from the inn at the drawbridge in Woods Hole), and has a deep water harbor where boats also leave for the Vineyard, and there are fishing tours and boat charters.
Day 8
Woods Hole is the ferry port for Martha’s Vineyard and today we are suggesting you take a trip back in time and a short 55 minute journey across the water were you will spend the next 4 days of your thrilling holiday.
Martha’s Vineyard has always been a quiet haven for the rich and famous with its rustic and unspoilt beaches, wildlife refuges, bike trails and quiet roads. A Native American community preserves its identity amid miles of pristine beaches and rolling farmland whilst sea captains’ houses, white picket fences and ice cream shops trim the authentic fishing villages of Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs and Edgartown.

The Inn is located at the top of Circuit Avenue, the main street in Oak Bluffs, steps away from dining, shopping, nightlife and entertainment. The beach is a five-minute walk on a sleepy residential street lined with picturesque gingerbread cottages. Head in the opposite direction on the main street and you'll find the harbor. They’re situated directly across the street from two of the finest restaurants on the island where many a familiar face has been spotted, from movie and rock stars to famous politicians and authors.

Oak Bluffs:
Oak Bluffs MA on the island of Martha’s Vineyard was first settled in 1642 and originally began as the centre for tourism on the Vineyard. It also became a centre of the thriving 19th century Methodist movement and the colourfully ornate cottages in which members built, known as the Gingerbread Cottages. Each August campground members still hold “The Grand Illumination” an event in which residents decorate their colourful cottages with Chinese Lanterns. The evening starts with a community sing-along and band concert and is concluded with the ceremonial lighting of the lanterns.
Oak Bluffs is also the home to the Flying Horses Carousel the oldest platform carousel still in operation. All ages enjoy trying to catch the brass ring on the carousel, in hopes of winning a free ride.
The harbor in Oak Bluffs is a great place to kick back, watch the boats and grab a bite to eat. There is a bustling nightlife in the town of Oak Bluffs as well, with a variety of restaurants, clubs and bars
Day 12
Sadly your fabulous fly drive holiday has reached its conclusion and it’s time to return to Boston.
The journey back to Boston will take you approximately 2½ hours, including the ferry crossing from Marthas Vineyard to Woods Hole, so we suggest you set a leisurely pace perhaps heading for the seaside village of Sandwich for lunch and a stroll before you reluctantly drive to Boston airport returning your hire car to the Alamo depot before checking in for your return flight to the UK.
