Speed limits on interstates vary between 65 to 75 mph depending on the State you are in, in towns speed limits can be as low as 25mph and are generally obeyed absolutely. It is very rare to see anyone exceeding a speed limit in a town – those drivers that do are almost always stopped by the police.
One US gallon is 3.8 litres. Service stations are regular on the highways, selling all grades of fuel and open 24 hours. Most filling stations require you to pay before you fill up. All major credit cards are accepted.
When parking in America use designated ‘off street’ and car parks as strict laws apply for street parking. Do not park in front of yellow or red road lines or within 10 feet of a fire hydrant.
