Bali’s stunning beaches are its most well-known attraction but there’s more to Bali than beaches – the mountains, rice terraces, temples and hills hold a charm of their own whilst Lombok offers Bali of yesteryear with its idyllic beauty, wide open spaces and gentler pace.
Bali evokes thoughts of romance, sunshine and tradition and blue seas, although today Bali is rather more 21st century with a wide selection of sumptuous resorts, fine restaurants and entertaining nightlife than those words imply although just a short way from the beach resorts you’ll find a Bali which reflects the impression. Ubud is an hour inland from the main beaches hidden away in the lush hills with spectacular rice terraces overlooking river valleys and intricately carved temples. Tanah Lot is also a much see and one of the most enduring images of Bali as the sun sets over the stunning temple of Tannah Lot set on the tiny island in the ocean only accessible at low tide.
The Climate: Indonesia’s temperature is very constant never dropping below 30 degrees Celsius or rising above 21 degrees. The driest months are August & September and the wettest months January and February. The optimum months are April to July and October and November.
