This is gentle fly drive allows plenty of time to enjoy Florida's coast as it changes from north to south.    

We will recommend great hotels along the route, most will be 4* and we'll suggest a suitable sized car to accommodate you family.   

We suggest you fly from London to Jacksonville and back from Miami, you'll be required to change planes on the outbound but direct on the way home.

The costs will differ on the season you travel in, the class you fly in and the standard & style of accommodation

Full Itinerary - Florida Fly Drive - The Coastal Route

 

Days 1 to 3  Amelia Island

Depart the UK on your chosen scheduled flight to Jacksonville. Upon arrival collect your rental car and proceed to your selected hotel where you will spend the next 3 nights. Amelia Island is the first beach destination located on the A1A route in north east Florida and it’s a perfect location if you want to enjoy a round of golf, relax by the pool or stroll along the beach. Close to Amelia Island is quaint Fernandina Beach and it’s well worth a visit.

Days 4 to 6 Daytona Beach  (134 miles)

As you commence your journey south you’ll pass through numerous small beach resorts along the coast as you head for Daytona, perhaps a stop at Marineland dolphin adventure would appeal. We've scheduled 3 nights in Daytona, Daytona is home to the infamous speedway races, beginning with the Rolex 24 and ending with Daytona 500 that all take place in February. Take a walk along the Main Street Pier or Oceanfront boardwalk, one of the best beaches in Florida; it’s an ideal location for relaxation and sightseeing.

Days 7 & 8 Vero Beach (128 miles) 

As you leave Daytona and meander down the causeway that is the A1A, surrounded by water on both sides, you will soon arrive at Canaveral National seashore and NASA Kennedy Space Centre. We've scheduled 2 nights here to fully appreciate the contrasts and spend a day in each location.

Days 9 to 11 Palm Beach (80 miles)   

On the stunning drive between Vero Beach and Palm Beach you will pass through dozens of small beach communities with the Atlantic ocean on your left and Florida intra-costal on your right separating you from the mainland, we suggest you take your time to enjoy it. Palm Beach is famed not only for its wonderful beaches but for the finest shopping you can imagine, complemented by fine restaurants and stunning resort and hotels, this really is a millionaires playground so it’s time to relax and enjoy.

Days 12 to 14 Miami (85 miles)

As a fitting end to your Florida fly drive make your way to Miami South Beach, the epicentre of cool, and one of the most hip and trendy areas in Florida. Miami is full of interesting and appealing tourist attractions, and the most notable include the Miracle Mile – one of the city’s major shopping regions.
